Warning, warning, danger, danger!

May 29th, 2010

Warning, warning, danger, danger (anyone still alive who remembers the robot from the sixties programme Swiss Family Robinson? – oops, we are giving away our age!)! Anyway, not a very good start for our boys in the warming up game against Saudi Arabia, of all people! No disrespect meant, they have been in the last four World Cups before this one, but we are the European champions and should be winning games like this by “goleadas”, not in the last minute from a substitute, even if his name is Fernando Llorente Torres and he lives on Mount Olympus! Then there’s others who have played in the last games, Pablo Hernández, Riera, maybe Bojan, and even Reyes who some press people in the know-all said would be back with the team. More »

What’s bad for Barça is good for Spain!

May 9th, 2010

Don’t worry, we’re not going to go all political on you, demanding a separatist state for Vilamala d’Amunt and all that sort of stuff, we just meant that Barcelona not playing in the Champions League final is good news for the Spanish squad, who are already going to have more doctors in South Africa than players at the rate things are going. Now Xavi and Iniesta and the others are going to get a bit of rest before the World Cup, and that can only be good for the team. More »
