Good news in the warm up games

So the warm up games are over, and now the real thing begins! Don Vicente has got us off to a good start with wins over Serbia, South Korea and China, although we had a few problems, especially against China in the last match. But who decided anyway that the Copa del Rey final was going to take place so late? For the first match there were no players from Barcelona and Athletic Bilbao, nor from Chelsea who were in the Champions League final – over half the squad missing! Del Bosque had to call up seven new players, some of whom were so young that their parents had to sign a note allowing them to stay up late to play! Goran was rather hoping that he might get a call from the coach as we were so short of players, he is rather a mean goalkeeper if I may say so, but in the end De Gea was chosen instead. Better luck next time Goran! With Chelsea winning though Don Vicente has taken a chance bringing back Fernando Torres – who can forget his winning goal against Germany in the final four years ago, but he has had a bad time in London and the jury is still out on him. Anyway he scored against Korea, and Llorente and Negredo are in the squad if he doesn’t perform, so we shouldn’t worry. Should we?
