Last year's runners up in the European Champions League, Valencia, were forced to a goal-less draw by Tirol Innsbruck in Austria in the third and final qualifying round of this season's competition. The closest they came to scoring was a shot from Mendieta which hit the woodwork. They now need to win in Valencia in two weeks time to join Deportivo, Barcelona and Real Madrid in the first league stage.
