Mixed results for Spanish teams in the first round of the UEFA cup. Zaragoza beat Wisla Krakow 4-1 after being a goal down. Acuña, José Ignacio and Yordi (2) got the goals. Rayo Vallecano also kept up their recent good form, beating Norway's Molde 0-1 with a goal from Bolo. Keeper Lopetegui saved a penalty. Celta and Alavés could only draw 0-0 at home against Rijeka of Croatia and Gaziantepspor of Turkey respectively, and have it all to do in the second leg. So do Espanyol, who lost 2-1 away to Olimpia Ljubljana. Galca equalised from the penalty spot before half time after the Slovenians had taken the lead, but the home side scored the winner a minute later.
