Kluivert scored the first two of the match and Espina pulled one back from a free kick. Alavés took two goal lead at Zaragoza through Javi Moreno and Desio, but Jamelli and Yordi pegged them back to 2-2. In the last match of the day, Las Palmas and Valladolid drew 1-1. In the second division, Atlético Madrid finally won their first match, Salva scoring twice as they beat Compostela 2-0. Co-leaders Jaén were beaten 1-0 at Córdoba.
