Spain will have four representatives in next Wednesday's last 16 UEFA cup draw after victories by Barcelona, Celta, Rayo Vallecano and Alavés. The only team to be eliminated was Espanyol, despite drawing 0-0 at Oporto in the second leg. Barcelona went through thanks to their first leg result against Club Bruges. Rivaldo scored early on from the penalty spot but Verheyen took advantage of a misunderstanding between Petit and 18 year old keeper Reina to level the scores at 1-1. Celta went through 1-0 on aggregate against Shahkhtar Donetsk (which local reporters pronounce 'donuts') thanks to a spectacular first half header from Catanha, and Rayo Vallecano won 2-0 against Lokomotiv Moscow with two goalsin three minutes from Bolic and Alcázar in the second half. The result of the night though was in Norway, where Alavés beat Rosenborg by 1-3 after drawing the first leg 1-1 in Spain. An own goal by Johnsen and a second by Vucko (his first ever for his new club) gave the visitors a two goal by half time, and Javi Moreno added a third minutes after coming on as substitute in the second half. Skammelsrud got one back for the home side from the penalty spot in the last minute. (07.12.00)
