The draw for the third round of the cup took place today. Giant killers Torrelavega have been drawn against the biggest giant remaining in the competition, Barcelona. The other two teams from second division B, Gaudix and Granada have been drawn together, which means that one will be assured of a place in the quarter finals. There is one all first division tie, Racing Santander versus Athletic Bilbao, and the two Madrid sides, Atlético and Rayo Vallecano, also came out of the hat together. The full draw is as follows:

Murcia vs Zaragoza
Extremadura vs Espanyol
Torrelavega vs Barcelona
Atlético vs Rayo Vallecano
Leganés vs Celta
Guadix vs Granada
Tenerife vs Mallorca
Racing Santander vs Athletic Bilbao

Ties will be played over two legs, with the first on or around 10th January and the second a week later. (05.01.00)
