World cup qualifier: Spain 4 - Bosnia Herzegovina1

In almost a carbon copy of the under 21 match the day before, Spain moved back to the top of their group with a flattering 4-1 victory over Bosnia. Cañizares kept Spain in the game early on with a series of magnificent saves, and Hierro put them into the lead with an opportunist goal midway through the first half. It was the Real Madrid defender's 27th for his country, making him their all time top scorer. However Beslija levelled the scores before the break with a shot which deflected off Juanfran over the keeper, and for a while they were pinned back before substitutes Munitis and Javi Moreno combined for Moreno to head his first goal as an international only a minute after coming on. Raúl headed a third a minute from the end of normal time, and Diego Tristán added a fourth in injury time to round off his debut. See match report (02.06.01)
