Copa del Rey - first round draw

The regionalised draw for the first round proper of the Spanish cup threw together some interesting fixtures. Under the new format, first division clubs were seeded to play against teams from lower divisions, with ties to be played over one leg at the ground of the lower division side. Real Madrid visit second division B side Pajara Playas Jandia, who are from one of the lesser known Canary Islands, Fuerteventura. The club were only formed five years ago from the merger of four teams, are currently bottom of their division after winning promotion last year, and play on an artificial pitch.
