Under 19 international

Spain named their squad for the opening match of the qualifying stage of the first ever under-19 European championship against Switzerland in Monzón next Wednesday 3rd October. The group includes two of the recent under-17 World Cup squad, Mallorca keeper Moya and Barcelona midfielder Iniesta, plus Carmelo, another of the Las Palmas youngsters currently playing in the Spanish first division. The next match will be against Armenia on 23rd October.

The full line up is as follows:

Athletic Bilbao: Azcorra, Jonan, Goikoetxea, Jon Moya and Murillo;
Atlético Madrid: Aznar;
Barcelona: Iniesta, Peña, Sergio;
Espanyol: Ceballos, Corominas, Jarque;
Las Palmas: Carmelo; Mallorca: Miguel Angel Moya;
Real Madrid: Alvaro, López;
Real Sociedad: Riesco;
Zaragoza: Pina.

Spain's under 17 side will also be playing a friendly on the same day against England at Bristol City's ground. (27.09.01)
