Under 21 international

Spain 2 - Yugoslavia 1

Spain's under-21s defeated Yugoslavia in a friendly match played in their North African enclave of Ceuta. Iñaki Saéz's side opened the scoring early on after Fernando Torres pulled the ball across for Reyes to head down past Poleksic. A few minutes later Torres made it two, turning in a cross from Raúl Bravo, and Yugoslavia got one back ten minutes before the break when Jokic headed home a corner. That was the end of the scoring though and the two managers used the second half to try out new players, with Real Madrid's Portillo making his international debut after being called up as a late replacement for the injured Dani.
