Málaga go through to a semi-final tie with Dutch side Willem II after drawing the second leg against Ghent in Belgium. Joaquín Peiró's side set out to control the game and not give anything away, but they let in Kaklamanos to head past Contreras shortly before half time.

However with a three goal lead from the first leg the result was never in doubt. Just to be sure though, Peiró brought on an extra midfielder, Leko, in the second half, and the Croat hit the bar with a quarter of an hour to go. Then with the Belgians desperately pushing forward, Dely Valdés made sure with a late goal in injury time from Manu's pass.
