Málaga are through to one of the three finals of the Intertoto cup after beating Willem II for the second time in a week. With the first leg in their favour, Joaquín Peiró's side took the match calmly, waiting for their opponents to come to them. Even so they managed to put some pressure on De Vlieger's goal, and Roteta hit the bar before half time.

The Dutch side came out stronger in the second half though, and after Contreras was forced to save from Landzaat, Peiró decided to bring on his two returning World Cup stars Darío Silva and Romero. That transformed the game, and within five minutes Silva had set up Dely Valdés for his fifth goal of the competition. That ended Willem II's fight, and Málaga go on to play French side Troyes in the final over two legs, with the prize a first time ever place in the UEFA cup.

PS. Málaga will now play Spanish rivals Villarreal in the final after Troyes were disqualified.
