Under 19 international squad

Iñaki Sáez picked a 22 man squad, out of which 18 will go forward to the European championships in Norway later this month. Atlético Madrid's Fernando Torres and Sevilla's Reyes will spearhead the attack.

Keepers: Moyà (Mallorca), Riesgo (Real Sociedad)

Defenders: Murillo (Athletic Bilbao), Peña (Barcelona), Solabarrieta (Basconia), Melli (Betis), Jarque (Espanyol), Alvaro (Real Madrid), Vega (Sevilla)

Midfielders: Sergio Torres (Atlético Madrid), Iniesta and Verdú (Barcelona), Carmelo (Las Palmas), Ceballos and Corominas (Espanyol), Recoba (Real Madrid), Pina (Zaragoza)

Forwards: Jonan García (Athletic Bilbao), Fernando Torres (Atlético Madrid), Sergio García (Barcelona), Reyes (Sevilla).

Spain's opponents in the group stage will be the Czech Republic, Norway and Slovakia. Their first objective though is to qualify in the top six to ensure a place in the World championships which will be taking place in the United Arab Emirates next March. The squad are due to meet up tomorrow in Palencia before moving on to Norway in a week's time. (04.07.02)
