Copa del Rey

The qualifying round second leg matches were all played last night, and this morning the regionalised draw took place for the first round proper.

Some 64 teams went in to the hat, including all the first and second division A clubs, the four teams relegated from 2A last season, the 17 winners of the preliminary round and Motril as the best runner up in the play-offs.

First division sides were seeded, and ties will be played over one leg on or around next Wednesday at the ground of the lower division side.

The most interesting tie of the round should be between the cup winners from three seasons ago, Zaragoza (now in the second division), and Real Sociedad. See complete draw. (05.09.02)
