Spain's under 21 side restored some of their confidence with a comfortable win in this friendly game. The co-managers Santiesteban and Ufarte used the fixture to try out new players, and one of the new men Rubén Castro got off to the best possible start, scoring in the tenth minute after the keeper failed to hold on to Riera's free kick. Jorge added a second after the break from the penalty spot, and Portillo came off the substitute's bench to score his first international goal a few minutes later. (15.10.02)
