Copa del Rey, second round draw

The draw finally took place today for the second round of the Spanish cup, with teams organised into four regional groups and the14 first division clubs seeded.

Hard up Oviedo got the first prize tie with Real Madrid which should enable them to hold off their creditors for a few more weeks, and Racing Ferrol must also be rubbing their hands at the prospects of a local derby with Deportivo La Coruña.

Six of the seven remaining second division B sides drew first division opposition, with the visits of Atlético to Cultural Leonesa and Betis to Palamós the pick of the crop.

Alicante is also going to be a busy place that week as Alicante CF and Hércules will be hosting Valencia and Mallorca respectively.

Ties take place over one leg on or around 6th November. (18.10.02)
