Second division, day 23

Zaragoza moved back to the top of the table after beating second placed Levante 1-0 on Sunday lunchtime. The only goal of the game came from Toledo in the first minute. Albacete dumped Levante out of the promotion spots in the evening on goal difference after a 0-3 win over Badajoz. Two of the goals came from the second division's top scorer Perera, and Badajoz drop back into the bottom four. Elche and Sporting cancelled each other out in a 1-1 draw, and they join a group of five teams on 31 points, which also includes Terrassa and Poli Ejido after the Catalans beat the Almerians 2-0. Salamanca are a point behind them after drawing 1-1 at Eibar, and Numancia are one below Salamanca after beating Leganés 2-1 to keep up their nine game unbeaten record. (16.02.03)

Leaders Murcia lost their second game in a row and will probably lose their top spot as well after Sunday's games. They were beaten 3-1 by a Getafe side who needed the points after their recent slide down the league table. The two Canary Island teams both recorded good results to move up into the upper reaches of the table. Las Palmas beat Xerez 4-0 to move ahead of them to fifth place, and Tenerife are now seventh after defeating bottom side Oviedo 0-2. Córdoba made it three victories on the trot after winning 1-3 at Almería, and they move above Racing Ferrol, who were held to a 1-1 draw in the Gallician derby against Compostela. (15.02.03)
