Second division, day 27

Murcia and Albacete share top spot after both won their respective away games against Terrassa and Sporting by 0-1. Ismael got the goal for the David Vidal's side in their Saturday night match, and Mikel headed the winner for the Manchegans on Sunday. Levante stay third after they drew 1-1 at Badajoz, not a bad result considering they had three players sent off and ended the game with eight men. Zaragoza lose ground though after a last minute 0-1 defeat by Compostela, and manager Paco Flores will have to make some changes if he is to hold on to his job.

None of the teams in the chasing group could take advantage of Zaragoza's slip though, with Tenerife being held to a 1-1 draw by Eibar and Las Palmas being thrashed 1-4 at home by Leganés. Poli Ejido led Xerez up until ten minutes from the end before the locals came back to win 2-1, saving Bernd Schuster's job for another week at least. Schuster wasn't there to see it though as he was shown a red card in the second half for protesting.

Elche got their season back on track with their first home win in the second half of the season, winning 2-1 against Salamanca to take them up to tenth. Getafe are a point behind them after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Oviedo, who move off the bottom of the table above Racing Ferrol. The Gallicians looked like getting their first win in fifteen games after they took an early two goal lead at Almería, but by half time they were 3-2 down and that's how it ended. finally Numancia and Córdoba edged further away from the danger zone with a 0-0 draw.
