Spanish international squad

Iñaki Sáez has called up the uncapped Javi Navarro for the Euro 2004 double header against Ukraine and Armenia next week. The Sevilla defender comes in together with Valencia's Marchena as several defensive players are unavailable, including Puyol, Curro Torres and Juanito who are injured, Iván Helguera who is suspended for the first game and García Calvo who is not playing regularly for his club. Sáez has also left out Atlético's José Marí and brought back Deportivo's Valerón for his first appearance since recovering from a long term injury. The under 21 side will also be playing matches against the same countries the day before, and the managers have only made a couple of changes from the squad who played the last friendly match against Germany, with Arriaga and Antonio López coming in and Rayo's Julio Alvarez dropping out.
