Transfer news

Although the transfer market is closed until next summer, clubs are already starting to plan for next season. The two week lay off for international matches has also forced the sports newspapers into action to fill their empty pages, and rumours have started to fly around all over the place. Everybody is talking for instance about a possible move for David Beckham from Manchester United to Real Madrid, which may just be a tactic to destabilize the situation in the light of the upcoming Champions League quarter final between the two sides. On the other hand it could be the soap opera of the summer, episode four after Figo, Zidane and Ronaldo. The same could be said, albeit to a lesser degree, of Kluivert's possible return to Italy to join Barcelona's next European opponents Juventus. In any case Barça could be in the market for a new side this summer (including Kahn?), depending on who the new president and manager will be and how much money they have left in the kitty.
