Intertoto Cup - second round, second leg

Györi Eto 2 - Racing Santander 1

A late away goal by young substitute Jonathan was just enough to see Racing Santander through against Hungary's Györi ETO. The one goal lead from the first leg was cancelled out early on when Kartelo beat youth team keeper Trevi, who was making his debut in place of the injured Borja. And Bajevski put the East Europeans ahead in the tie with a second goal after the break. Manager Nando Yosu brought on youngsters Jonathan and Nacho with twenty minutes to go though, and it was Jonathan who proved to be the saviour, heading Matabuena's free kick past Sebok late on to take his side through on the away goal rule. Racing's opponents in the third round next week will be the winners of Sunday's tie between Slovan Liberec and Shamrock Rovers. Villarreal will also enter the competition at that stage with a home first leg against Italy's Brescia. (12.07.03)
