Second division, day 3

Cádiz stay at the top of the table after defeating Terrassa 2-0, and they are the only side to record maximum points from their first three games. Almería moved up to second, level on points with Tenerife, after beating Alavés 2-1, and Numancia are a point behind them in fourth place after a 2-0 win over Las Palmas.

Sporting Gijon climbed off the bottom of the table with a late 3-2 win over Algeciras. Bilic scored twice from the penalty spot for the Asturians. All the other games ended in draws, with the matches Leganés versus Levante and Eibar versus Córdoba ending without goals, and Ciudad de Murcia and Salamanca drawing 1-1 in the last fixture of the weekend. Two goals from Keko, the second from the penalty spot, gave Tenerife a 2-1 win over Recreativo and took the Canary Islanders to the top of the second division pending Sunday's games. Second placed Getafe were held to a 1-1 draw at Málaga B, and there was the the same result in the game between Elche and Xerez. Rayo Vallecano got their first win of the season though thanks to two goals from Peragón in their 3-1 victory over Poli Ejido, and they move out of the relegation zone. (13.09.03)
