Second division - day 7

Draws, draws and more draws in another dull round of matches in the second division. If two weeks ago there were a record nine games ending all square, this weekend they went one better with ten. The only fixture which didn't end in a tie was the one between Numancia and Terrassa, where the locals ran out 2-0 winners thanks to two goals from Pineda. The Soria based side are now fourth, level on 13 points with the top three, Levante, Cádiz and Almería. (12.10.03)

All three games brought forward to Saturday evening ended in draws. Leaders Levante were held to a 1-1 result by Tenerife despite taking an early lead through Congo. Martín Posse equalised for the Canary Islanders after the break. The same scoreline as well in Madrid, where Leganés and Rayo Vallecano cancelled each other out in their local derby. Leganés have now drawn six of their seven matches, as have Xerez who drew 0-0 at Eibar. (11.10.03)
