The top three clubs all won to open up a gap on the chasing pack. Leaders Numancia beat Leganés 0-2 on Sunday lunchtime, with both goals from Kome. Later in the day Almería kept up their undefeated record with a 0-1 victory at Xerez, and Levante struggled to beat bottom club Málaga B 1-0.

Alavés were beaten 3-1 by Salamanca and drop to sixth, and managerless Córdoba moved out of the relegation zone with their first win of the season, 2-0 against Algeciras, who replace them in the bottom four. The other two games ended in draws, Elche and Ciudad de Murcia tied at 2-2 and the game between Poli Ejido and Sporting ending without goals. (02.11.03)

Rayo Vallecano lost 0-1 to Eibar on Saturday night, a fourth home defeat which leaves the Madrid based side further down in the relegation zone. Manager Julen Lopetegui was fired after the match as a result. Recreativo meanwhile moved further up the table with a 1-0 win over Andalucian neighbours Cádiz.

Both Canary Island sides drew 1-1, Tenerife at bottom club Terrassa in a game in which three players were sent off, and Las Palmas at home to Getafe, with top scorer Rúben getting the equaliser after the visitors had taken the lead. (01.11.03)
