Second division, week 30

A change of leader for the third week in a row, Levante moving into top spot after beating Almería 2-1. The game was almost called off due to the heavy rain, but in the end Aganzo won it for them with two headed goals after the visitors took the lead. Numancia drop to second after being held to a 1-1 draw by Elche, and Sporting Gijon are now third after losing 2-1 to Xerez, the locals getting the winner from the penalty spot in injury time only seconds after Rubén equalised.

It was another low scoring weekend though, with only 19 goals in the eleven games. Fourth placed Alavés lose ground on the leaders after drawing 0-0 at Córdoba, and they have been overtaken by Getafe, 0-1 winners at Salamanca. Recreativo kept up their unbeaten record in 2004 with a 1-0 victory over bottom side Algeciras, and Cádiz are level with them after defeating Leganés 0-1. Poli Ejido won their relegation battle with Tenerife, also by 1-0, leaving both Canary Island teams down in the four relegation spots. (28.03.04)

Rayo Vallecano pulled away from the relegation spots after a 2-0 win over Ciudad Murcia, Peragón and Bolo getting the goals in the last ten minutes of the game. No such luck though for Las Palmas, who were held to a 1-1 draw by fellow strugglers Málaga B and ended the day in next to bottom spot. Terrassa though moved safely up to mid-table with a 2-1 win over Eibar, Maikel getting the goals for the Catalans in the first and the last minutes of the match. (27.03.04)
