Pre-season fixtures

With the season finishing early this year for the Euro 2004 championships, the summer break will be longer than usual. Some clubs will be going on tour before sending their players off on holiday, and others will be coming back early to prepare for the new season, which is scheduled to kick off as usual at the end of August. Although detailed information has not yet been published about most teams' programmes, we set out details of those matches that have come to our attention. Real Madrid and Barcelona for example will both be going to the Far East in August, with dates to be officially confirmed once they know whether they will be playing the qualifying round of the Champions League or not. Deportivo and Valencia are also reportedly going to Asia, although no details have been published as yet. (12.05.04)
