Spain came back from two goals down to win this match and keep alive their hopes of reaching the quarter finals. Juan Santiesteban's side had dominated the first half, with David going close and Jurado having a goal disallowed. But they found themselves behind when Yang ran on to a through ball to beat Adan on the stroke of half time, virtually the first effort from the Asians on target. And they appeared to be down and out when Sergio Sánchez deflected the ball past his own keeper for South Korea's second goal midway through the second half only seconds after Santiesteban had made a third change to his side.

But half time substitute Silva changed the scoreline around with three goals in just over ten minutes. The Valencia winger had already tested the Korean keeper with a long free kick, and he gave his side hope heading home a cross from Barcelona's Cesc Fábregas. And then he added two more, volleying home David's headed pass and then putting Spain in front after Xisco set him up. Llorente could have made it four when he headed just wide, but Adan had to save from a dangerous free kick in injury time as Korea came looking for an equaliser.Spain now have a chance to top group D if they can beat group leaders United States (and their 14 year-old super-star Freddy Adu) side next Wednesday.
