Another great comeback, this time against South American champions Argentina, took Spain through to the final of the youth World Cup. The youngsters found themselves two down early on, the first a controversial goal from Biglia after it appeared that Garay had headed the ball back into play from behind the by-line in the build up. And then on the half hour mark Garay scored a second himself, heading Peirone's corner past second choice keeper Mandaluniz.

Arsenal's new signing Cesc pulled one back though at the start of the second half after Markel played on a cross from half time substitute David. Seven minutes later the scores were level after Jurado drilled a shot wide of Ustari, and soon afterwards Argentina were left with ten men after Cardoso was sent off for a foul on Ruz.

Spain came forward and the keeper made a spectacular save from David, but with no further scores the game went into extra time. Argentina defended furiously though, a little too much when Llorente was carried off with what looked like a serious injury after a foul by Peirone, and it appeared that everything was heading towards a penalty shoot-out.

But with two minutes left, Cesc collected the ball on the edge of the area and left his marker for dead before shooting across Ustari into the net. It was the young midfielder's fifth of the competition, making him joint top scorer in the competition, and under the golden goal rule it ended the match. Spain go on to play two times champion Brazil in the final on Saturday afternoon, looking for their first ever title at under 17 level.
