Second division, day 14

Eibar are still clear at the top of the table despite being held to a 1-1 draw by Lleida on Sunday evening. Llorente appeared to have given the Basques a victory when he scored his twelfth of the season ten minutes from the end, but Dani Marín equalised with a deflected free kick just a couple of minutes later. Cádiz closed the gap on them to three points though after a 0-2 win at bottom club Córdoba. Some 2,500 fans made the trip to watch their side take the lead through Dani Navarrete in the first half, and De Gomar wrapped things up in the last minute.

Elche moved up to third in the table after coming from behind to beat Racing Ferrol 2-1 on Sunday lunchtime. Mario Bermejo put the Galicians in front after the break, but goals from Alfredo and Nino turned the score around. Later in the evening Alavés missed out on a chance to overtake them when they drew 3-3 at Salamanca. Dmitri Piterman's side had cancelled out an early Robert strike with an own goal and two from Bodipo, but the locals pegged them back. Poli Ejido moved further away from the top spots though after losing 1-2 to Málaga B, and they have now gone seven games without a win.

The bottom four all failed to win, and a three point gap has opened up between them and the rest of the pack. Mario Husillos took over as caretaker manager at Real Murcia, but ended up joining two of his players in the early bath after his side threw away a one goal lead to lose 2-1 in the last minute at Tenerife. Their city neighbours Ciudad Murcia (who they meet next week) were two goals up against Recreativo, but they too had a man sent off and ended up drawing 2-2 after Rosu struck twice. And Pontevedra have still to win at home this season after they were beaten 1-2 by Sporting Gijón. (28.11.04)

Third placed Xerez failed to take advantage of their Saturday kick off, their disappointing 1-1 draw at home to Almería probably meaning that they will be out of the promotion spots by the end of the weekend. Mena had given them hope with a first half penalty, but Soria headed an equaliser from Galca's free kick a few minutes later. Valladolid and Celta cancelled each other out in a thrilling 3-3 draw, the lead changing hands a couple of times before Sava's late equaliser for the visitors. And a last minute strike from Bolo gave ten man Nàstic a 1-2 win over Terrassa in their Catalan derby. (27.11.04)
