Second division, day 25

Leaders Cádiz were held to a 1-1 draw at Nàstic, Abraham Paz saving them a point after Bolo headed the Catalans in front. They stay at the top of the table though, just a point now ahead of Celta who made it four wins in a row after beating promotion rivals Recreativo 1-2. Vryzas got the winner for them after Uche had equalised Jonathan's early strike. Eibar drop out of the top three though after they were held to a 0-0 draw by Poli Ejido. The match nearly didn't go ahead due to a heavy rainstorm which turned in to snow during the second half.

Alavés have been rapidly dropping out of the promotion race after ending the first half of the season as winter champions, and they were beaten 2-3 by Real Murcia to make it four defeats in a row. Iván Alonso got the winner from the penalty spot in a match which was watched by Murcia's new manager Casuco, who takes over next week. Xerez lost ground on the leaders as well as they were held to a 1-1 draw in the last minute by bottom side Córdoba, and they are gradually being caught by Lleida, who won 2-1 against struggling Salamanca, and by Sporting Gijón, who came from two down to beat Racing Ferrol 3-2 earlier in the day. A second half strike from Nino gave Elche a 0-1 win at Terrassa, taking them back up to second in the table pending Sunday's games. There were 0-1 victories as well for Tenerife at Ciudad Murcia, and for Málaga B at Almería. (19.02.05)
