Intertoto Cup, third round, second leg

The two surviving Spanish sides won their way through to the semi-finals of the competition with comfortable victories over their opponents today. Deportivo La Coruña beat Slaven Belupo 0-3, with Rubén Castro opening the scoring on the quarter hour mark, Víctor adding a penalty immediately after the restart and Diego Tristán wrapping things up ten minutes from the end. And new signings David Villa and Kluivert were both on target as Valencia beat AA Gant 2-0 later in the evening. Depor will now meet England's Newcastle in their semi-final tie, with the first leg at home on Wednesday, and Valencia will meet Dutch side Roda, also starting off in Spain. (23.07.05)
