Spanish international squad

Arsenal's young midfielder Cesc Fábregas and Villarreal's Brazilian born Marcos Senna have both been called up by Luis Aragonés for the friendly against the Ivory Coast next week. Guti, Joaquín and Capdevila have also been recalled in a 22 man squad which, together with the injured Raúl, Vicente and Xavi (if fit), is expected to form the core for Spain's World Cup line up. The full list is as follows:

Goalkeepers: Casillas (Real Madrid), Reina (Liverpool);
Defenders: Antonio López and Pablo (Atlético Madrid), Puyol (Barcelona), Juanito (Betis), Capdevila (Deportivo), Michel Salgado and Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid), Marchena (Valencia);
Midfielders: Cesc Fábregas (Arsenal), Joaquín (Betis), Luis García and Xabi Alonso (Liverpool), Guti (Real Madrid), Albelda and Baraja (Valencia), Marcos Senna (Villarreal);
Forwards: Reyes (Arsenal), Fernando Torres (Atlético Madrid), Morientes (Liverpool), David Villa (Valencia).

The match will take place at Valladolid's Nueva Zorrilla stadium on Wednesday night. (24.02.06)


Under 21 international squad

Iñaki Sáez has called up 18 players for a friendly match against Poland, which will be taking place in Miranda de Ebro the day before the full international match. All those named have played at youth international before, many of which for the under 21 side. Spain have been paired with Slovakia and Albania in the new look European competition, with matches to take place at the beginning of September. The full squad for the Poland game is set out below.
