Second division, day 34

Recreativo Huelva moved back to the top of the second division after beating last week's leaders Nàstic 3-0 on Sunday lunchtime. Goals from Uche and Calle put them two up in the first half hour, and after Oscar Alvarez was sent off for the visitors, David García put through his own net. Later in the day Almería moved back up to third spot ahead of Levante after a 2-0 win against Elche, who played the last hour with ten men. Soriano and Acasiete got the goals a quarter of an hour either side of half time. Lorca are just two points behind Paco Flores's side though, second half strikes from De Carlos and Jorge Sánchez giving them a 0-2 victory over Hércules.

Down at the other end, Tenerife moved out of the bottom four after a 2-1 win over Valladolid, Cristian Alvarez getting the winner for Bernd Kraus's side near the end. Their place in the relegation zone is taken by Lleida, who fell 2-0 at Sporting Gijón thanks to two goals by Calandria. Castellón won their relegation battle with Racing Ferrol 1-0 to keep themselves just above the drop zone, and Poli Ejido moved clear of danger after beating Numancia 1-2, ending the Soria based side's run of seven home wins in a row. Levante moved back into the top three after a 0-1 win against promotion rivals Xerez on Saturday evening. The Valencia side's keeper Cavallero saved a penalty before Ian Harte struck the winner with a second half free kick. Ciudad Murcia failed to take advantage after a surprise 0-2 defeat at home to bottom club Eibar, Azkoitia and Iñigo getting the goals either side of half time to take them level on points with Málaga B, who drew 1-1 with Albacete. Ciudad's neighbours Real Murcia also had a disappointing result, losing 1-0 at Castilla thanks to a last minute goal from Adrián Martín. (22.04.06)
