Spain 3 - Germany 1

Spain are through to the European Championship finals after beating Germany 3-1 in their last elite round match. Barcelona's Jeffren took advantage of a defensive mistake to give them an early lead, and Bueno latched on to a long clearance from his Real Madrid team mate Adán to make it two immediately after the restart. Halfar got one back for Germany soon afterwards, but Jeffren wrapped things up with an angled shot near the end. (30.05.06)

Spain 8 - Cyprus 1

A crushing 8-1 win by Spain over Cyprus left Ginés Melendez's side only needing a draw in their last match against Germany to qualify for this summer's finals in Poland. Mata, Mario Suárez and Bueno got two each, with Valiente and Granero also getting their names on the scoresheet. (28.05.06)
