Torrevieja. A crushing 8-1 win by Spain over Cyprus left Ginés Melendez's side only needing a draw in their last match against Germany to qualify for this summer's finals in Poland. The youngsters took a bit of time to get going, Carmona setting up Mata to open the scoring but the second goal not coming until shortly before half time when Mario Suárez beat Kissas. But the introduction of Diego Capel at the break opened the floodgates, and the Sevilla winger set up Bueno and Valiente to add two more around the hour mark. Bueno, Mata and Granero got three more in four minutes, and although Avraam got a consolation for the Cypriots, Mario Suárez rounded things off in the last minute.
