Ejido. Spain could only draw their second group match with Turkey, although they were already assured a place in the quarter finals after their initial victory against Malta. Coach Juan Santiesteban made several changes to his side and they looked better than in their opening match, although they were unable to take advantage of the chances they created in the first half. Ten minutes after the break Sevilla's Antonio Puerta picked up a pass from Iván Ramis to put Spain ahead, but after that they sat back and allowed their opponents to take control, substitute Cafercan making it all square with a well struck free kick later in the half.
