Barcelona kept on track for a place in the last 16 after a 0-2 victory at Levski Sofia. However Werder Bremen's win over Chelsea in the other group match meant that Frank Rijkaard's side have to beat the Germans in their last game in two week's time to go through.

Giuly gave Barça the lead with less than five minutes gone after Gudjohnsen's header from Zambrotta's cross was blocked. But after that the Bulgarian side came close to equalising a couple of times, especially with an effort from Stanslav Angelov which Valdés kept out.

Gudjohnsen and Giuly both saw efforts saved by Petkov after the restart, but the keeper couldn't hold on to a long shot by Deco a few minutes later, and Iniesta was there to drive the ball home for his side's second. It was enough to ensure the victory, and now it all comes down to that last game in the Nou Camp.
