Spain beat Switzerland 1-0 in the opening match of their European qualifying group, which this year they are hosting. Bojan Krkic got the only goal with a shot from outside of the area with just under a quarter of an hour gone, and the Barcelona striker could have scored two or three more before the final whistle. The visitors came close to saving a draw though when Zuber hit the post in injury time.
