Spain qualified for the
European finals after beating Poland 1-0, their third win out of three. Juan
Santiesteban's side only needed a draw to go through, but they dominated the
match, with Atlético's Pichu getting on the end of Bojan's free kick to
open the scoring with just over half an hour gone. Fran Merida tested his
Arsenal team mate Szczesny later on, and the keeper also saved from Pichu and
Bojan before Camacho headed against the bar. Spain top the group with
Switzerland second, Poland third and Sweden in last spot. |
