Verviers. Spain's under 17 side kicked off the European finals with a 2-0 victory over France. Bojan Krkic was expected to star, and he and fellow striker Isma tested Delle early on. But it was Krkic's Barcelona team mate Iago Falqué who put Juan Santiesteban's side ahead with a long shot in the twentieth minute.

Keeper De Egea was in action either side of half time to save two efforts from Borgeouis, and Le Tallec and Saunier both went close. But midway through the second half Arsenal's Fran Mérida picked up a pass from substitute Dani Aquino to wrap things up.
