Spain's under 17 side went
through to the semi-finals as group champions after holding Germany to a 0-0
draw. Having won their first two games, one point was enough to ensure top
spot. But with Mérida suspended and Bojan rested, their only effort on
goal in the first half was a deflected shot from Camacho.
The German side needed to
win to qualify for the semi-finals, and De Egea had to save from Bigalke in the
first half and Sukuta-Pasu after the break, with Kroos also going close later
on.
Porcar and Xino both tried
their luck at the other end, but it was not until Bojan came on as substitute
that they looked like scoring, the Barcelona striker just failing to convert a
couple of chances in the final minutes. Spain were through though, and they
play hosts Belgium in the semi-final on Thursday. |
