Sevilla beat Slavia Prague 4-2 on a rainy night in the Sánchez Pizjuán stadium to pick up their first points in the Champions League. Kanouté started things off after Navas intercepted a bad pass out of defence, the striker taking the ball round a kamikaze Vaniak to curl a shot into the net. And although Pudil fired a pile-driver past Palop to equalise, Luis Fabiano restored the lead after Kanouté flicked on a ball out of midfield.

A few minutes in to the second half Escudé made it three, turning the ball in close to goal after Keita had headed on a corner. And Kone came on to get a fourth after Kanouté took advantage of another defensive mistake to set him up. Kalivoda did get a second goal for the visitors in injury time though which left the two sides level on goal average in second place in the group H table.
