Real Madrid picked up another point in a fairly dull goal-less draw against Olympiacos, and they move a step closer to qualifying as a result. The Merengues had never won in Greece in European competitions, but Bernd Schuster's side had the better chances in the first half, Robinho and Sneijder testing Nikopolidis and Raúl and Van Nistelrooy both hitting the woodwork.

Olympiacos had hardly approached Casillas's goal in the first half, but Lua Lua and Galletti missed consecutive chances after the restart, That was about it for the locals though, and Sneijder could have won it with a late effort which Nikopolidis saved. Madrid ended the day on eight points, and one more victory will see them through.
