Under 19 European Championship

Spain 0 - Greece 0

Spain and Greece both qualified for the semi-finals of the competition after drawing 0-0 in their last group game. Juan Santiesteban's side had the better of the first half, with Aarón, Nsue and Coto all going close. Ten minutes into the second half Greece had a chance to take the lead when Sanjosé tripped Papadopoulos, but Ramos guessed correctly and kept out Mitroglou's spot kick. And after that both sides settled for a point, the heat also contributing to the fact that the match slowed down to a walking pace. Spain play France in their semi-final next Tuesday. (21.07.07)

Spain 1 - Portugal 1

Spain wasted a chance to tie up a place in the semi-finals after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Portugal. Juan Santiesteban's side dominated the match, and took the lead early in the second half when Aarón converted a penalty after the Valencia striker had been brought down in the area. But Aarón and his colleagues missed a couple of opportunities to wrap things up, and their opponents saved a point when Carriço headed home a Santos corner with twenty minutes to go. Spain only need to draw their last game against Greece though to go through. (18.07.07)
