Second division - day 6

Racing Ferrol consolidated fourth spot with a 1-2 win over Albacete, who end the weekend at the bottom of the table. Cohen and Pereira got the goals either side of half time before Calandria got one back. Hércules are fifth after drawing 1-1 at Salamanca, where a heavy rainstorm made the pitch almost unplayable. And Sevilla Atlético are level with the Alicante based side after an injury time goal from Moreno gave them a 0-1 win at Eibar.

Earlier in the day Elche clocked up their first home win, Bellvis scoring a goal in each half in a 2-0 victory over Celta. Elsewhere Real Sociedad could only draw 1-1 at Xerez, Díaz de Cerio cancelling out Antoñito's early strike, and the match between Córdoba and Granada 74 ended without goals. (30.09.07)

Leaders Málaga beat Poli Ejido 2-3 on Saturday evening to make it six straight wins in a row. Peragón gave them the lead early on, and although Bermejo made it all square from the penalty spot soon after the restart, a Tena own goal and a second from Peragón wrapped things up. Meanwhile the second and third placed teams played each other, with Sporting Gijón running out 0-2 winners at Numancia to overtake their rivals in the table. Both goals came from top scorer Barral in the second half.

Gimnastic missed out on a chance to draw level with Numancia after they were beaten 1-0 by bottom club Las Palmas. Trashorras got the only goal to take the Canary Islanders out of the drop zone. Castellón moved back up to fifth spot after beating Cádiz 2-0, with Oberman and Perico getting the goals either side of half time. And Alavés and Tenerife cancelled each other out in a 0-0 draw, a result which leaves the Vitoria based side still down in the bottom four. (29.09.07)
