Luque and Fagoaga got the goals to hand the Soria based side their second home defeat in a row. Sporting Gijón took advantage to move into second place, ahead of their rivals on goal difference, after a 4-2 win over Cádiz. Kike Mateo scored twice and Moran and Castro got the rest to leave the Andalusians on the brink of the drop zone.

Sevilla Atlético held on to fourth spot after drawing 1-1 at Racing Ferrol, Juan Pablo equalising Pereira's early goal from the penalty spot on the quarter hour mark. And Hércules are up to seventh after a 0-3 win at Eibar, César, Juanma and Cámara on the scoresheet for Andoni Goikoetxea's side.
