Spain 1 - Italy 0

A spectacular volley from David Villa gave Spain a 1-0 win over world champions Italy in their last friendly before the Euro 2008 squad is named. Luis Aragonés put out a line-up similar to the one he is expected to start with in the summer, with his four play-makers in midfield and Fernando Torres up front. They were lucky not to go behind though when Luca Toni had an early goal ruled out for a dubious offside, and then when Camoranesi hit the bar after the break. With twelve minutes to go though half time substitute Villa smashed a first time shot past Buffon after Cannavaro headed clear Iniesta's cross to keep up Spain's 18 month unbeaten record. (26.03.08)
