Spain opened their campaign
in Korea with a 4-2 win over Honduras. Barcelona's Bojan controlled a long ball
out of midfield to lob the keeper and score in only the second minute, but
Christian Martínez ran on to equalise with an angled shot past De Gea
twenty minutes later. Villarreal's Jordi came on after the break though to put
Juan Santiesteban's side ahead again after Licona fumbled a high ball, and
Borja cut in past a defender to make it three soon afterwards. But Rojas got
another one back for the Central Americans, and it was not until Jordi latched
on to Dani Aguino's cross to score into an empty net that Spain were safe.
