International Cup

won the 34th edition of the Atlantic international trophy, which takes place
every winter in the Canary Islands. The youngsters beat the Ukraine 1-0 with a
first half strike from Racing's Iván Bolado and then went on to record a
similar result against the hosts, the Canary Islands, this time Mallorca's
Emilio Nsué the scorer. And in the last game Ginés
Meléndez's side won 3-0 against France with goals from Nsué and
Atlético's Camacho (twice) to take the trophy once again. (15.02.08)

Spain won their opening
match in the Atlantic tournament, beating Ukraine 1-0 in Maspalomas. Racing
Santander's Iván Bolado got the only goal midway through the first half,
although only De Gea and the woodwork prevented the East Europeans from getting

Spain top the table after
beating hosts the Canary Islands in their second game in Vecindario. It was
close fought match though until Mallorca's Emilio Nsué headed in a
Fontas free kick with five minutes to go. (14.02.08)

Spain retained their title
after a comfortable victory over France in their last game in Maspalomas.
Nsué headed them into the lead in the first half from Borja's centre,
and Camacho headed a second from Isma's cross at the start of the second half.
And the Atlético midfielder wrapped things up with a third headed goal
near the end from Parejo's corner. Despite Spain's victory, the vote for the
best player in the tournament went to Martynyuk, who is from runners-up
